Trance music has been undergoing an intense development during
the last years: While sounds are getting always faster and harder
on the one hand, sets from alternative floor DJs can often not be
distinguished from Techno artists. So its very refreshing to know that
there still is something in the middle: Iono Music provides our scene
with high- class releases since 2005, melting the classical Trance
patterns with recent sounds.

Solano - Under The White Flag

This duo from Swiss offer a refreshing take on the psychedelic world
of progressive music, yet manage to stay within the boundaries of Iono's
trademark sound. There's some serious tunage here on this artist album.
'Blacklight Faces' and 'Access Deny' are deep as hell and have a full
thumbs-up from the clubs I tested them at.

Check the two killer tracks at the end of the album, these remind me
of the original form of trance in the mid '90s with a Platipus edge to them.

From the few labels releasing quality progressive trance, Iono sure
seems to have a lot up their sleeve, proving to be capable of releasing
both quality and quantity. I've always been a fan, so the immaculate
production comes as no surprise, but this is one of my favourites so far.

The sexy cover has got the music to match. DJ Drenan threw together
a spectacular combination of well established artists exploring the slightly
faster side of progressive trance. It's fresh, funky and fat with touches of
electro shining through here and there. Crisp sounds placed where it
matters most. Each track is an absolute pleasure to listen to and I cannot
wait to hear this played over a proper sound system this summer.

Its starting to get a bit embarrassing that I keep reviewing releaes from
Iono Records, but it´s their fault for releasing a string of dawm good tunes!

This artist album reminds me of what trance music used to be all about - remember those Sasha days all those many years ago? Progressive
beats with lush musical moments that melt in and out, doing exactly what
it says on the tin - trancing you out.

Off course, today it´s called progressive... with a psy twist.

Ix Lam At - kin ethics

This time Iono head to Mexico using the talents of Luisa Sanchez
& Israel Gutiérrez Vara, aka IX-Lam-AT. Inspired by his Mexican
roots, he's put together a progressive album with tribal grooves
and fat rollin' basslines with warm sensational melodies.

The perfect tool for morning sets.

Head straight for Progenitor's 'Soundreflex' - I could rant about
this track all day! This is progressive trance at its best -
a pure, deep, dark 'n' sexy example.

It blew the socks of everyone when I dropped it at Guverment,
in Toronto, last week; for such a simple track it has so much meaning
and power. Other beauties on here come from Phaxe, Sinister & Silence
and Titali, again all in this gorgeous progressive trance style.

I love the direction Iono Music are taking - brilliant!

This was a surprise discovery for me while compiling for my latest
Euphoria compilation. I'd never heard of these guys and still don't know
much about them, but feel I have to share this with you.

I'm always moaning about a lack of decent deep & dark Prog -
well not anymore because we have an album full of it here!

There plenty of heads down moments with depth.
'Luminocity' is the one that kills the dance floor for me.

Isratrance 2007

Iono shows us that they are gonna grow really soon to one of the best
prog-trance labels around, I think it will happen if they continue to search
for music like they included on that compilation.

Great work dudes and I really hope the rest of the labels will give us so
much goodies in this year like Iono Music did!

Klopfgeister - Sunflavoured

It‘s been two years since their first album came out and Thorsten Paul
and Jens Schefzig have been busy in the meantime making a name for
themselves as a live act. With their special, slightly woody sounds and
their tightrope walk between Progressive and Psy Trance, they suit the
morning Psy floors brilliantly as well as the prime time of the club.

Despite all the warmth and a dose of lively funky rhythm, the Klopgeister
still sound deep and close to the underground. Sometimes it just takes a
little time to get things going. The Downbeat beginning with an Oriental
overtone will be the high light of every Chill set and other tips include
"Sunflavoured" with a killer break and crisp, moderate speed beats and
"Riders of the Eucalypse" with nice reminder of Neelix like impression.

Definitely check it out. (Tulla)

The first (prog) compilation of the young Berlin label Iono comes along
with big kicking basslines, shining spheres and big names. Murus and
Cubixx, both longtime-progressive DJs know what‘ll tickle your synapses.

And so we find well known names like Frogacult, Freq, Nyquist or Klopf-
geister as well as awesome newcomers like Pythagoraz and Nox Lupi.

This is what I want to be played at the festivals,
this is how a compilation should be! (Lena)

We think with its soulful and perfect arranged tunes this compilation has an ambition to be counted as one of the strongest progressive releases in 2006.
